Winter 2011/12 Preview
(18th September 2011)

In the meantime the airport published a first preview on the winter 2011/12 season. Here are the highlights:

* Aeroflot IL96 shall only come once on saturdays. Instead there should be more Transaero (see below)

* Cimber Airlines changes Aarhus and Billund to ATR72 equipment.

* easyJet will launch scheduled flights from London Luton.

* Lufthansa will operate the Frankfurt flights with their own flight number, but equipment will remain with Austrian Arrwos operating a Fokker 100.

* After one year of absence Monarch comes back with a weekly LGW charter flight

* Niki starts services to Marsa Alam

* Norwegian newly serves Gothenburg beside Bergen, Kopenhagen, Oslo, Stavanger and Stockholm.

* Traffic from Russia shall include Rossiya, I-Fly and Ural Airlines. But there will be still a lot of changes... 

* Small Planet Airways ist a new airline coming to Salzburg with a charter flight from Vilnius

* Transaero plans two daily B747-400 flights on saturdays. This will be the first time a B747-400 operates scheduled flights out of SZG.
 
* Transavia continues strengtheing its winter network to Salzburg: Eindhoven and Amsterdam get more frequencies and Groningen services are newly launched.

Summer News 2011
(25th May 2011)

A constant summer season without a lot of changes started:

* Austrian Arrows hstopped its both daily Dusseldorf flights in january. Air Berlin operates soley on the route, mostly with B737/A319.

* Cirrus Airlines operates daily to Munster/Osnabruck with Dornier Do328.

* Charter Flights: Outgoing traffic is dominated by Niki, Austrian and some Turkish carriers. Incoming traffic is mostly operated by Thomson, BMI, Air Contractors, SAS & City Airlines

 


Winter News 2010/2011
(10th September 2010)

This week Salzburg Airport published a first preview for the upcoming winter season. The highlights include:

Scheduled flights:

Aeroflot wants to operate 3 flights each saturday, 2 with A320 and 2 with IL96.

Air Berlin continues to expand it's Salzburg operations: During winter it'll operate 2times daily to Berlin TXL, Dusseldorf and Hamburg. 4 weekly flights will go to Hanover and London STN

Austrian Arrows changes the aircraft from Dash 8-400 to Fokker 100 on the 4 daily Frankfurt flights. Vienna will be soley served by Dash 8-400

Jet 2 flies additonally to Manchester and Edinburgh twice weekly a longside Leeds / Bradford.

Pegasus operate scheduled flights out of SZG for the first time: Once weekly to Antalya every wednesday

Transaero wants to operate 3 flights each saturday; one should be operated by B777-200

Transavia wants to restart scheduled flights between Salzburg and Amsterdam 4times weekly. Also new will be Eindhoven and Billund. Flights to Rotterdam and Copenhagen remain in the winter schedule.

Charterflüge:

As christmas this year is on a weekend, the UK and Ireland charter flights will operate on Tuesdays between 21DEC and 11JAN.

New airlines this winter should be
Viking from London LGW, Air Contractors from Dublin, I Fly from Moskau VKO & Windrose from Kiev.

Winter News 2009/2010
(09th January 2010)

Due to the ongoing economic crisis and the negative development in tourism, also this winter a decline in charter-traffic must be recorded. But there are also some news:

Aeroflot should operate 2 scheduled flights with IL96-300 to Salzburg each saturday until the end of march.

Air Berlin took over nearly all TUIfly services. Just Hannover isn't in the schedules any more. The Dusseldorf service has been upgraded to B737 or Airbus A319/A320 equipment.

BlueAirWeb operates zo SZG once weekly this winter out of Bucharest Baneasa.

Cimber Sterling operates newly to Aarhus, Billund and Copenhagen. The former Cimber charter to Karup was taken over

Tarom operates a weekly scheduled flight to Bucharest Otopeni. It is in evaluation to continue this service in summer.
