GB Airways (British Airways) will launch Salzburg - Manchester service
(09th August 2006)

Beside SkyEurope and Thomsonfly also GB Airways will launch a scheduled services from Manchester to Salzburg in ccoperation with British Airways. The flight will be operate in average 4 times weekly mostly with Airbus A321 aircraft, which can acomodate 189 passengers. The flights can already be booked at www.ba.com at prices starting at 91,10pounds (135€) incl. all taxes and fees for a return flight. At the end of the season smaller Airbus A320 aircrafts will be utilised.

Northwest to start Detroit service
(03rd June 2006)

Next summer, Manchester could see a new scheduled service to the US operated by Northwest. Roumors say that Northwest plans to deploy some of its B757-200 aircrafts on transatlantic services. Acoording to the sources, NWA plane to employ the B757 aircrafts on new Detroit - Europe services. 


FlyGlobespan to Cape Town
(01st June 2006)

During winter 2006/2007 FlyGlobespan will operate 3 weekly flights between Manchester and Cape Town. A newly acquired B767-300 will be employed on the route on tuesdays, thursdays and sundays in the evening. 



Thomsonfly flies Manchester - Salzburg

(15th April 2006)

The English Low Cost Airline Thomsonfly increases its Salzburg operations with the start of the winter timetable 2006/2007. Nnew scheduled flights to Doncaster - Sheffield, London Gatwick and Manchester will be launched. Most flights will be operated with Boeing B737 equipment in different versions. All flights are already open for booking at www.thomsonfly.com

Biman Bangladesh opens Dhaka - MAN - New York flight

(30th March 2006)

Biman Bangladesh reroutes iits Dhaka - Brussels - New York flight and stops now in Manchester. From 08th April the flight will be operated weekly. The frequency will be doubled to twice weekly starting 05th July. Westbound flights stop at Manchester on tuesdays (from july) and on saturdays in the evenings. Asiabound flights stop on wednesdays and on sundays drng noon time. 


Continental launches additional Newark flight
(30th March 2006)                 

The American airline Continental will launche a second daily Newark service from/to Manchester. From 06th may 2006 the flights can be seen at Ringway during the following times: 
CO020/CO021 STA: 07:40 STD: 09:25
CO100/CO101 STA: 09:55 STD: 11:25

Also the aircraft type will be changed: Instead of one daily B767-200 both flights will be operated with B757-200 in future
